The vinyl album “The Sounds of Violins” (Zvoki violin)” was first released in Slovenia in 1983, and reissued in 2023 (Helidon Publishing House).

The songs “Tam dalec prek morja” (1978) and “Prehitro mimo je mladost” (1979), originally performed in a quintet formation, were the first to receive a string arrangement. They were joined by ten additional compositions, mostly waltzes, in which Vilko Ovsenik, through his arrangements and stylistic approach, drew closer to Strauss. In doing so, the authors confirmed the opinion of many musicians, composers, and experts that the Avsenik brothers could well be regarded as the “Slovenian Strausses.”

(from the book Zlati zvoki – Catalogue of Avsenik’s Music, author Aleksi Jercog)

Complete track list of the album:
Mladost prehitro mine / Prehitro mimo je mladost, Lisicka in Maricka, Tam dalec prek morja, Vsa vas je na nogah, V Radence pot me pelje, Na avtocesti, Prijatelji, ostanimo prijatelji, Nasvidenje, Gozdarjeva povest, Kako bi jo spoznal, Cvetoce tulpe, Na zdravje vsem.
